In 1954 John F. Prudden, MD, MED. Sc.D., the Father of Cartilage Therapy, discovered the clinical value of MCC as part of a study to reverse the negative effects of corticosteroids on wound healing. During his research he applied MCC powder to open wounds and to his astonishment, the MCC accelerated the wound healing and reduced inflammation of the surrounding tissues.

Simply put, MCC increases the speed of wound healing - healing that may be needed due to surgery, laser treatments, the use of Retin-A* and other topicals, and even radiation treatments.

Donell first made headlines in 1989 when we became the first company to develop and distribute topical non-steroidal products with the key ingredient of MCC. And in 2004, we aquired Super-Skin so that today Donell has come full circle to provide a complete line that helps soften the harmful effects of sun, acne, aging, and improve the healing and appearance of scars and promote skin recovery following plastic surgery and other medical procedures.

Our commitment to the science of skin care can be demonstrated by our partnership with Shriners Hospital, where they are using our Donell Post-Procedure Ointment to help children who have suffered siginifcant burns over their face and body.
